Amazon launches its very own, highly anticipated Kindle e-book today. In a personal letter showing up on Amazon's homepage, founder and CEO Jeff Bezos addresses the public with the news:

"Today, we at Amazon are proud to announce Kindle, a wireless portable reading device with instant access to more than 90,000 books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers." (amazon).

Amazon also posted videos of Kindle in action, and of Bezos talking about it.

Others are skeptical as to the device's chances to succeed where many, many other e-books have failed.

The Kindle's highlights:

$399 Price tag

$9.99 Price tag for thousand of best selling books

holds over 200 books

wireless network allows you to shop on Amazon using Kindle.

No Seth Godin books in the Kindle.

I dont see a real difference thatll set the Kindle apart from all the other failed e-book gadgets.
I don't see why Kindle should be different from all other failed e-books

With Amazon.com backing and wireless book purchasing features, Kindle may very well could be the first succesful e-book.
With Amazon.com's back and wireless book purchasing, Kindle may actually make it
